The secretary-general of Thailand’s House of Representatives has informed the House speaker that she would prefer the government’s delivery of its policy statement to parliament, by Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin, to be on September 11th, instead of September 8th.
Speaker Wan Muhamad Noor Matha said today (Saturday) that the House secretary-general, Natjaree Anuntasilpa, reasoned that her office has to send copies of the policy statement to all MPs and senators on Monday. Then a notice will have to be sent to them five days in advance of the parliamentary meeting for the policy statement delivery and debate.
As such, the September 8th time frame may be too tight, according to Natjaree.
Wan said he will call a meeting of the House and Senate whips on Thursday to finalise the date for the event.
