Chon Buri thief allegedly steals wallet with only photo of man’s missing son

One Chon Buri mechanic is begging a thief who allegedly stole his wallet to return what he says is the only photo of his missing son. The mechanic, Apichit, told The Pattaya News he was fixing a washing machine at a car wash shop in Bang Lamung district, when he put down his bag on a white box. He turned his back, and did not see when a man came and took the bag. CCTV footage later captured the theft, and also the thief driving away in a pickup truck.

Apichit said his son has been missing for 20 years. He said he doesn’t care about any money stolen, or pressing charges, but only the photo of his son, which was in his wallet. He begs the alleged thief to return the photo, or for anyone who knows the man to contact Huay Yai police.

“This is the only photo I have of him and it is priceless to me. I don’t care about the money or the other items in the bag.”

The man who stole Apichit’s bag is shown wearing a red shirt and shorts, and black slip-on shoes. Apichit said he filed a report to Huay Yai police, who are now tracing leads on the pickup truck the suspect left in.
