Advance voting registration begins today and lasts until April 9th

Eligible voters in Thailand, who are unable to vote on election day on May 14th, can register for advance voting in their constituencies, in other constituencies or abroad from today until April 9th, according to the Election Commission (EC).

Those who want to vote in advance in their constituencies can apply for registration by mail or with the local registrar. Those who want to cast their ballots outside their constituencies can also do so with online registration, through the website of the Provincial Administration Department or Smart Vote application. Only an ID card is required for the registration, but voters who want to vote outside their constituencies must clearly specify for which constituencies they want to exercise their voting rights.

Internet registration can be done around the clock until April 9th, by filling in the registration form. After the completion of registration, the system will automatically confirm their registration for actual advance voting, scheduled on May 7th.

If a voter does not want to advance vote after registering, they can inform of such by logging into website of their registration or the Smart Vote app.

Elderly and disabled voters can also vote in advance at central election facilities, which will be announced by the EC on May 7th.
